I've not published a public comment on the recent controversy, though
I have sent private emails, and I was hoping that would calm things
down.

The trail community is very diverse, as is this list. Different
members have different interests, and different reasons to smile.
Others have personal beefs with each other and axes to grind.

>From long experience my best advice if someone posts something you
don't like is "don't feed the trolls."  Don't reply, don't comment on
it, do nothing except hit the delete key.

If you really think the offense is truly egregious, then send me a
private note, or send a private note to the person who made the post.

Remember, if you feed the Trolls, you get to keep them.
