[pct-l] alternatives to a tent?

for a low-cost alternate for tent guy lines, etcetera,  buy a roll of 
braided (not twisted) 1/8" or so nylon cord, often called mason twine.  
Ace Hardware and Home Depot carries it as probably most other hardware 
stores.  The twisted stuff unravels too easily to be useful.  One roll 
will probably outlast you even if you are young and hike a lot.
