Be that as it might be true, ridgecrest is better, However it involves wierd hitching one or 2 rides is needed coming and going AND its hotter then Hell out there in the desert sun. At least Oxyx is one hitch back and down on the same road

If at all possible the best place to resupply from Walker Pass is 
Ridgecrest.  We were lucky to get a ride but you could hitch and this town 
has so much more to offer rather than Lake Isabella and Onyx.
