[pct-l] tarp camping... (more)

I forgot to mention that careful camp site selection can mean a night free of bugs. Shetlered locations near water and meadows are just asking for flying bugs, while more exposed and windy places will be free of them.

As for the crawling type of bugs, you just make sure you don't camp on top of an ants nest so look at the ground carefully before setting up camp. I've never been bothered by crawling bugs while cowboy/tarp camping since I started in 2006. And I use a quilt which is even more exposed then a sleeping bag. So far on the PCT, my streak has continued.
