Good afternoon, Randy,

The Kennedy Meadows General Store is a relatively small concern, and most of
their business supports the local population and some vehicle campers. As a
result, their food offering not exactly ultralite, dense, and easy to pack –
particularly packed into a bear ‘can. Much of their offering is canned,
packaged convenience meals, chips, pop, etc.

Kennedy Meadows is also the functional gateway to the Sierras for hikers,
and as a result it is the most likely place to exchange desert gear for
mountain gear such as an ice axe, bear ‘can, traction aids, etc. Except for
a few rare items that can be bummed from the hiker box, special gear isn’t
available. That means most hikers receive a box with those items, as well
as a load of food for the next resupply segment.

Enjoy your planning,
