[pct-l] Sony Cyber-shot Camera DSC-W100

My cyber-shot camera quit working less than 2 years after I bought it.  
Sony wants $120 plus parts to fix it.  I had it in the desert last 
spring and it may only need cleaning.  When I turn it on the lens goes 
out then it goes in and out three times with a message to turn the 
camera off and then on again.  Anyone else have this problem?  This 
camera has a view finder which I cannot live without.  I tried a screen 
only camera.  Almost impossible to find a pika on the screen.
