I also use Superfeet to prevent plantar fasciitis. Soft insoles and walking barefoot cause plantar in this hiker's left foot.

The Incredible Bulk

I am a 53 year old female, 5'10", 150 pounds. Normal weight for height.
I wear men's 10 1/2 EEEE shoes. (Women's size ten wide in dress shoes)
My feet got wider the more I hiked.
I usually wear New Balance trail shoes of some kind in my size. I buy
whatever model is on sale at Big 5. I have two bad knees from injuries,
and two herniated disks in my back. I am required to wear dress shoes
to work, where I am on my feet all day, and found that Superfeet
insoles vastly improved my condition. I have the black ones that I
switch around to all my dress shoes (after removing any removable insole
that came with the shoe) and I have the green ones that I switch into
any workout or hiking shoe (again, I removed the insole that came with
the shoe.) They are wider than the black ones and take up more space.
I will never go without Superfeet again. Even though they are hard
underfoot they are perfectly matched to my foot shape and provide the
support I need to work and hike without constant pain.
I know they don't work for everyone but they worked for me.
