I used those for 2 segments, the first was 500 or some odd miles and the
second was a bit longer. There were amazing for about 100 miles then the
just fell apart. I had to wrap one pair in duct tape just to keep them
together from yosemite to s. lake tahoe. The only reason I used them again
was because they sent me a replacement pair after i told them they fell
apart.
I eventually got a pair of mizuno wave ascend 3's in Ashland and shipped
them to that summer camp in Oregon. They lasted the rest of the trail and I
still use them, they are just that amazing. =)
It all boils down to personal preference but i don't recommend the New
Balances only because they fall apart to easily and I've been through some
painful days with broken shoes.
