I could be remembering wrong but I believe the point of the legislation was
to remove federal control of firearms regulation in national parks and
revert control to the states in which the parks reside.  Each state may
implement its own rules, including keeping the previous regulations in
effect if desired.  Which means that if you want to carry a firearm, you'll
have to carefully check the regulations for each park you intend to visit.
