I thought exactly that. But I did them anyway.

Instead I thought, Am I going to let some silly switchbacks bother me  
after coming so far?

I have another question: Did you take the high route over Goat Rocks  
or the official route above the glacier. I took the high route and  
was glad I did. It was spectacular!
