A good technique for washing clothes was to use a 1 gallon zip lock bag (or repurpose an opsak if using them) to use as a washing machine. Just load the bag up, add water and a few drops of Bronners and proceed to agitate. Be sure to dump the water out well away from the water source. Do the same (without the soap) to rinse.
