I don't know what the condition of Jack Spring is in October, but it
isn't easy to find. The sign is on a small tree leaning over and it's
pointed toward southbound hikers. The trail to the spring is very
very faint. I was able to find it but others I talked to could not
find even the turnoff. The spring I had visited before Jack Spring
was quite a disappointment so I took very little water from it. I'm
glad I was able to find Jack Spring. Just in case you can't find it,
fill up at the disappointing spring before that. I forget its name.
Has a nasty elevation drop.
