I liked the idea of marking the trail to indicate that a rattlesnake has been spotted near by.  If the squiggly line that was being used last year was misread as just being the result of someone dragging their trekking pole, why not make the mark clearer?  Lets make something that looks more like the letter "S", maybe even two letter long, a sort of S on top of an S with a little intentionality.  In this way it would be more recognizable and just as easily erasable.  Just a thought.
