[pct-l] "Trail magic" & "Ride needed"?

Just curious about all the "need a ride from the trail" inquiries.  Is there
some kind of coordinated effort to ferry hikers back and forth from the
trail whenever they need a ride to town?  What happened to dealing with what
comes and/or hitching a ride from whoever happens by?  Is this what being
connected while on the trail is heading towards?  I'm not calling anyone
out, just curious about some of the posts lately, from the trail.
