Thanks for your reply. Timing is tight in Portland. Will either catch  
late bus out or wait until next morning to get to Medford.
 From there, can take RVTD bus to Ashland. Probably head toward  
Callahan's, but not sure how close I can get on the bus.
Long trip to get there. Want to be well rested before getting on the  
trail. I assume trailhead is fairly close to Callahan's?

Possibility of getting into Medford about 7:30pm wed. If so, will have  
missed last RVTD bus to Ashland and could definitely use a ride.
