The North Cascades, like much of the PCT, does not have designated
campsites.  This means you use your Leave No Trace savvy and pick the most
durable surface and remember to respect wildlife and be considerate of other
visitors.  In the best of all worlds, this would be rock, snow, sand, dirt,
duff or dry grass for your tent, out of view of the trail or scenic vistas
and away from areas wildlife frequent (like the only access to water)  and
you would store your food and cook away from your tent.  These ideal
conditions are hard to find!
