Funny. Three separate hiking forums and all similar topics.

So I'll copy and paste (and cross post, too! :D)

All this emphasis on carry Dumbo-feathers is what worries me. The societal 
expectations that we can, and  should, be connected 24/7. 

That it is an aberration  to not be. It is not bad to carry devices to be 
connected 24/7. 

What IS bad is  that more and more it is the norm, the expectation, that we ALL 
should  be connected 24/7.
