[pct-l] When does the desert end?

I was wondering when the desert section kind of dissipates? The reason I ask: I'm thinking about using my old Dana design bridger during the desert part due to I sweat a lot. I mean, a lot so I go through tons of water and I'm afraid to load up my UL pack with tons of water weight. Thus, after the desert part I would switch to my UL backpack. Anybody got any thoughts on this. Scott
