  I have found that most High-Tec trail runners are usually wider than 
the typical trail runners.
The other thing I like about them is that they are very stable...by that 
I mean they don't role over very easy.
The first thing I do when I shop for hiking shoes is to try to make them 
role...........if they role over easy, I don't want them.
High-Tec trail runners seem to resist rolling over thereby reducing the 
risk of sprained ankle.

Yes Sir, High-Tec is my favorite trail runner when I go ''UL'' and the 
fact that they donated 3 sets to me a few years ago has nothing to do 
with it....I have been using High-Tec long before that.

You can also widen your existing shoes by soaking them in watert then 
driving a wedge into them and letting them dry with the wedge in place.
