[pct-l] 2011 Snowpack

As was taught in my SAR Academy and Avalanche courses, no backcountry 
traveler ventures away from the trailhead without knowing the conditions 
where they are going. Follow the weather trends for a few weeks beforehand 
and watch the satellite photos of the area to know what is coming 
(http://www.noaa.gov/).

At this time, the satellite is showing lots of activity in the western 
Pacific and it's mostly headed our way. Sure, the season could dry up; we've 
seen that happen, too, but educate yourself and watch what weather does. 
Then when you see the signs while walking the trail, you won't be surprised 
when the weather changes...
