Albert, check out the ULA website. They are still made in Logan, Utah. I
have a Catalyst and I really like it. A lot of PCT hikers use ULA packs. I
like the extra room in the Catalyst especially when carrying a bear can, but
it does weigh a little more than the Circuit and the other ULA packs.

Subject: [pct-l] ULA still USA?

Well, I've got water purification and a compass but just my old college days
textbook backpack to carry them in.

After studying backpacks and reading about them here I narrowed down my
choices to the Bora 80, ULA Catalyst, Gregory Palisade, ULA Circuit or the
Golite Odyssey and have pretty much decided to go with the ULA Circuit
because of the reviews. I have a vague memory of someone here saying that
ULA was bought by a Chineese company recently so they're no longer getting
the hands on quality control they had with the original founders when they
were manufactured here in the US.

I can't find the e-mail so I could be completely wrong on this but does
anyone know if the ULA's are still manufactured in the USA? Also, the
Circuit seems to be the favored pack but has anyone used the Catalyst to
complete the PCT and would you recommend it? It also reviews very well. -
Albert
