That would probably work for most people.

Now if you have a 0 degree synthetic sleeping bag, a double walled 3
person tent.
A big fluffy pillow, ... only pack fresh food, MRE's, Fritos, Saltines
or any other low density food, you may want to think bigger.
It may sound weird, but I've seen really big packs full to the brim
with mostly air, and I'm talking last summer on the AT, not the
70's:-)
