Hi Dan

No, you're not missing something, it's expensive to ship across the border.
If you're doing 30 resupplies you're looking at probably at least $500 extra
shipping cost to send form Canada over what it would cost to ship them in
the states.

The $15 option in the states is for a specific flat-rate box, but would also
be more expensive to ship over the border into Canada.

There's also the complicating factor of potential customs issues. What
is/isn't allowed over the border changes from time to time. If, for
example, there's a case of mad cow disease in Canada june, and the US puts a
block on any Canadian beef products, and the customs label on your package
indicates there's food inside, or gets randomly inspected, there's some
chance it will be rejected.

Spent quite a bit of time considering the options and the best choice would
be to head to the states early and prepare your resupply boxes there before
you hike, or travel down with your boxes and drop them with someone who can
ship them out for you, if you have an economical way to do that.

Unfortunately no way around it - one way or the other it's either going to
be more expensive or more of a chore ahead of time.

Cheers,
