[pct-l] Backpacks

Crystal,

I haven't carried any of those, being a guy.  Some considerations include being large enough to handle a bear canister and all your gear.  If possible, borrow one from the store or another hiker, carry it full for several hours (maybe on a day hike or on the stairclimber), and see how it feels.  Make sure it is sized properly to your torso length and that the hip belt and shoulder straps are comfortable with a full load.

You didn't say if you plan on thru- or section-hiking.  That could make a difference, especially in re the bear can.

Good luck.

Subject: [pct-l] Backpacks

I am trying to decide what lightweight backpack to purchase for my hike this
spring,

1. Granite gear vapor kai
2. Granite gear meridian vapor kai
3. Granite gear nimbus meridian kai
4. REI flash 65
5. Golite quest

I know there are other less known and more used by pct hikers but I need to
get my gear from rei (sponser) so what do you people think about these
packs, keep in mind that I am looking at womans packs only and this will be
my first time hiking light
