there are several options.
I am working with the PCT and the forest service to lay a path.
There will be meetings in February.
But if the west portion of the san gabriels is still closed, the exit will 
likely be at the devils punch bowl, via the burkhart trail, then hiking along
horse trails through juniper hills, past littlerock dam to MT Emma trail to
Aliso canyon to auga dulce via soledad canyon.
The community of Juniper hills (at the punch bowl) is gearing up to provide
trail angel help, with the possibility of opening the community hall to pct
thru hikers.
supplying water, shuttles etc, and setting up a trail to pass through private
property. But this is all up in the air still, until the PCTA and the forest
service decide what they are going to do. They have a lot of work and planning
to do to do.
