[pct-l] 2 parter: First time & Early Start

Start date depends on so many independent variables that there is no one best answer.  What's the snow like this winter?  How dry or wet?  Do you  have any backpacking experience, especially on long trips in a variety of conditions?  Several recent threads on this listserve can provide some useful guidance.  Good luck.

Hello fellow hikers my names Dave and I'm from Los Angeles. I'm attempting to (going to, lol) thru-hike the PCT for the first time this year and I just wanted to introduce myself and at the same time hopefully spark a discussion on starting early i.e. whats the earliest feasible starting date.
