I will introduce my boots system. My hiking style may be quite
different from the PCT hiker, but I had hiked JMT completely no
trouble, no blister, no muscular pain, last summer. I usually carry
20Kg, maximal load will be 30Kg(VVR to Lone Pine) . I selected the
lighter and stiffer boots for this summer. The shoes are light
excluded because they cannot carry heavy loads.
I selected Hanwag Super Friction GTX (UK size10, 930gram). This boots
are hight-cut, they are relatively stiff and light.

But, the toes are a litter narrow for me. So, I enlarged the width by
my foot pattern and hot iron.

I selected Shock Doctor for insole, very cheap and soft insole. But I
felt a bit of hardness, So I added the SOLBO at the heel, and made 3
holes at the great toe for ventilation purpose.

I need test my boots system once more before flying to USA, but I am
convinced this system works well.
Many people say the gait style is the most important than boots or
shoes. But I do no agree with this opinion. This is simply a
indication of failure of shock absorbing and supportive system. This
is a technical problem. And there must be some solutions concerning
technical problems.
