Kathi,

You would be passing through 2 State Wilderness areas that require it, Anza-Borrego Desert and Mt San Jacinto. I don't know of any others in that part of the trail.

Hello PCT-L!
Can I be totally and completely lazy? Does anyone know off-hand if I 
start out in Warner Springs and hike north for about 100 miles on the 
PCT if there are any areas that require permits?
