The same thing happened to me. I wrote to the PCT-L with my info I think last week. At least the Canadian guy was very nice about it--he could have mailed the permit back without processing. The website info is misleading and needs to be changed.

Got a phone call yesterday from the gentleman who processes Canadian Entry Permits.  I mailed my permit application and a copy of my driver's license as the instructions requested.  Now they want a scan of either my passport or my birth certificate.  Never had to do this for my 2006 hike.

 

Wondering if anyone else is hearing the same?
