alot of people sent them home when they reasched Tuolumne last year...I don't advise it...I didn't see any bears until AFTER that...benson Lake area....freaked the hell out of me cuz I was hiking alone and thinking so I wasn't paying attention and all of a sudden there was two babies up in trees on both sides of the trail and momma was waiting not too far away....

Generally speaking, thrus will carry them from Kennedy Meadows (mile 690) to Sonora Pass or Lake Tahoe.
