[pct-l] Saw a scary picture... Need some reassurance...

2006 was a heavier than normal snow year in the Sierra. My best guess is
that this hiker lost the trail in the snow, took a bearing for the next
pass, and started traveling cross country on that bearing. In any case,
he is not on the trail in that photo.

It is anybody's guess what the snowpack will be like next year. You may
or may not find yourself hiking in similar conditions.
