[pct-l] COLD FOOD

Good morning,

I also like a hot cup of coffee in the morning on the trail -- usually
premium instant mixed with a packet of Swiss-Miss chocolate powder.  Since I
also eat cold meals on long hikes I choose to pass on that treat.  Instead I
feed my caffeine habit in different ways:  In warm weather I just dissolve
the instant coffee powder in a cup or so of water in my drinking bottle.  It’s
cold, but at home I often walk around with a cold cup of coffee anyway so
it’s no big deal.



Most of the time on the trail, however, I suck on a coffee-toffee product
called “Coffee Nips”.  Per the box they're made with coffee but I have no
idea how much caffeine they contain compared to a cup of coffee.  Downing
several of them seems to help me avoid withdrawal symptoms.  Best of all, I
really like them.
