And Ned's full winter kit is a good idea too.
Hell, why not a full 75lb pack....... just in case.

The point is, there are options. Consider them all.

The "food storage rules" in the bear problem areas are geared towards
the "normal" weekend user. Sometimes they don't quite fit the thru
hiker.

There ARE other options.
