The desert sections are almost all views of one sort or another. The High
Sierra is almost all stunning views up and down into canyons. Knock your
socks off gorgeous. Northern CA has some tree tunnels, but still lots of
views. Oregon has probably the most forested trails, but still has views,
and Washington has gorgeous trees, and mountain views that are as stunningly
beautiful as the High Sierra, if not more so. The PCT really maximizes the
beauty of the mountains you traverse.
