[pct-l] Recommended spots to leave a car in Lone Pine for week?

Rumor has it the Lone Pine Chamber of Commerce will let you park in their lot for $5 a day.  Last year I parked in the Dow Villa overflow lot at no charge for 24 days.  I stayed there one night on the way to Yosemite. This year people claimed they asked about it and someone at Dow said no. As suggested parking at Whitney Portal is free--what more could you ask!
