sounds like you need a Yogi handbook! There is Dow Villa, Mt Whitney Motel, Lone 
Pine Budget Inn, The Portal Motel, The Trails Motel and Best Western (which if I 
recall doesn't give such a great discount), and the Whitney Portal Hostel (whom 
I love!)

Does anyone know the name of the hiker-friendly motel in Lone Pine?  They
