[pct-l] 1/3 of hikers start at end of April in monumental snow year?

I might as well be known as Turtle.  I suspect when I start on May 1st, my
slow-ass will be passed by 1/3 of the other thru-hikers.  Maybe if I time it
right, I'll arrive in the Sierras just in time to see the first wildflowers
of the season. :)
