[pct-l] What is a PCT Ambassador?

How about the LNT principles of being a PCT Ambassador:

Plan Ahead and Prepare - Not everything will go as planned. Within  
reason, have flexible plans that take into consideration the  
inevitable mishaps.

Travel and Camp on Durable Surfaces - And when in town, make sure  
that you and everyone in your hotel room has paid for their durable  
sleeping surface.

Dispose of Waste Properly - And don't leave a huge physical or  
emotional mess for trail angels or other hikers to clean up.

Leave What You Find - Leave a town, resort or trail angel's home as  
you found it. Ensure they are happy they helped a thru-hiker and  
hopeful to provide services to more of us.

Minimize Campfire Impacts - And don't start flame wars online about  
the inevitable mishaps.

Respect Wildlife - Respect the locals, too. Let small towns be small  
towns and leave your big city demands and expectations at home.

Be Considerate of Other Visitors - Your cleanliness, good manners and  
gratitude will go a long way toward making future thru-hikers feel  
welcome. Don't forget that not everyone around you is a thru-hiker,  
and yet their adventures are also just as wonderful for them as yours  
is for you. They deserve as much consideration as you have been  
given, so don't assume you are better or more deserving than others.
