Thanks so much for that , Mountain Goat.  I'm leaving for a section hike in 2&1/2 weeks from Burney Falls to Ashland and will be hiking this section; the anticipation of the trail is now palpable.  mountain mike

Previous Post:

>From Castella (Hwy5) to Mt Eddie- The trail is in good condition, with
only 1 snow patch of any significance on the trail. There are very few
blow downs, and only about 5 places where snow is on the trail, all but
one will melt in the next day or two. The one snow patch which is about
20 yards, can be crossed in about 2 minutes or less, and is about 30
miles North of Castla, or about mile 1539. There were just a few
mosquitoes during the entire hike yesterday. There is occasion snow
patches near the trail, which should persist for another 1-2 weeks, so
now is a great time to travel this section of trail, if you like
putting snow in your water bottles like I did yesterday.

Below
is
a link, to the photo's of the entire hike for your enjoyment. It
should take me a few days to create a trail video, for those interested.
