I recommend getting ones that are polarized and with UV filtering, especially for the Sierra.  Find a good sturdy neckband to hold them on.  Also in the Sierra, side-screens (not sure if that is the right term) is very useful to block more reflection off the snow.

Subject: [pct-l] Sunglasses ... cheapos Vs brands ...

does anyone out there own some quality brand name sunglasses?

i am looking for recommendations ... not sure if i should just grab some 20$
pairs, or splurge for some oakleys at 200$
is there a real difference in the end ... ?

anyone recommend some good rbands like tifosi, that are polarized, and impact /
scratch resistant,  but aren't over 150$ ?

thanks,
