Brandon,

Last year I found black bean refrieds in the bulk bins at Winco. Very tasty
and inexpensive. They will rehydrate without cooking, though it takes a bit
of time. I normally would hydrate the mix at my last break of the day and it
would be set by the time I made camp.

Also, it has been my experience that most any par cooked past/rice will only
rehydrate to said par state without heat. Ramen will get there given time,
though I believe that the noodles have already been fried, and they are not
made with Durham flour which requires a much longer cook time than rice
flour.
