Hey Doug - Neat Question -like your thought process....been there done that
too....bunches. But nothing much to be too concerned over, ok.  I enjoy reading
these things and even ask several questions myself but here is one very
important thing for all of us hiking this time to remember. Making it to Canada
is 85% mental,  5% gear, 5% physical and 5% luck. Sooooo regardless of which bag
you take and/or when you change them out and/or if you take a wool Indian
blanket the whole trek instead.....if you Want to make it and Have Fun every day
getting there...YOU will make it and All will be Well! :-)

HAPPY TRAIL SMILES!
HAIRNT!!
S'do

Subject: [pct-l] 20 degree vs 30 degree bag for Oregon

If anyone can take a short break from their Can't Wait To Walk jitters,
could you weigh in on the likelihood of a 30 degree bag being sufficient
for the Oregon sections hiked in August?  I have a 20, and see
opportunity to go a bit lighter and a lot smaller.

I won't be carrying a lot of extra layers that I could wear in the bag -
just lightweight merinos, maybe.

Thank you for your kind patience with us, the woefully uninformed.

Doug
