For those who are interested I have created some Garmin GPS Setup
Guides for PCT hikers that can be downloaded here:

Also, big news if you have a Garmin Etrex HCx series or Garmin
Map60CSx GPS. I now have custom PCT overly maps in Garmin Windows and
Garmin Macintosh format. These were created by Travis, a 2011 hiker,
from my GPS tracks. These overlay maps only show the trail and are
designed to be used on top of Garmin's 24k or 100k Topo maps. See the
Etrex setup guides (link above) for information on how to install
these maps. You can download the overlay maps free from
