Posted for the Berners from Pine Creek Pack Station. Note that the Onion
Valley station is now manned continuously.

Ask them about their pack train service which can bring your supplies up to
many different points along the JMT. This works best for groups o,r if they
have another load going up to a group at the time you need, you can
piggy-back on that on a space-available basis for a lesser fee. Kearsarge
Pass is really nice and the trip up the east side is nowhere near as bad as
some folks make it out to be.

Hello Bob,

Thanks for the message and reply to interested persons in Resupply services.
Some of the confusion on rates is because we have no resort or store where
buckets are sent and stored for $40 or more. These places such as Muir
Trail Ranch and Reds Meadow Resort may store upward of 300 buckets, so they
tell me, where we probably handle maybe close to 60 for the entire season.

A lot of drop points which are convenient to travelers along the JMT are a
difficult ascent from the eastern slopes, such as Tyndall Creek (over
Shepherd's Pass) and Upper Basin/Bench Lake (0ver Taboose Pass). They
generally require 2 days of service (overnight). We also resupply from Pine
Creek to points in Evolution Valley and to areas in French Canyon/Granite
Park from the Sierra High Route near Italy Pass and Bear Lakes Basin.

The most economical and timesaving is from Kearsarge Pass to points along
the Muir Trail and adjacent areas. One can hike out to our station, which
is now manned continuously.

The best thing for folks to do is send us an electronic message:
pinecreekps at aol.com or bernerspack at yahoo.com; Phone us at 800-962-0775,
760-387-2627, 760-387-2797; or mail requests to PO Box 968, Bishop, CA
93515.

Let us know how we might be of further help. And Happy New Year!

Your friends,

Brian and Dee Berner
