[pct-l] Lets Talk High-End Watches

I bought a Target special: Timex Indiglo.

It tells the time. It tells the date. It glows.

After a thru-hike on the CDT, numerous outings all over CO, UT and WYO
(backcountry skiing, hiking/backpacking, alpine climbing)
it is still going.

Maybe someday I'll buy a watch that tells me my astrological chart, recent bowel
movements and favorite color, but I'll keep it
simple and reliable for now.

What to use a watch for? The best use for a watch I've found (while hiking) is
for dead reckoning. Use my watch almost as much
as my map for off-trail hiking and esp on 'trail' like the CDT.
