[pct-l] Camping near Yosemite

Thanks. I'm aware of the same-day opportunity for permits and will try that if I can't get one before hand. Just trying to put together back-up options. Where exactly is "Reds Meadow"? Don't see that on the YARTS schedule.

If you show up early at the permit office you should not have a
problem getting a permit. 60% can be reserved, the remainder are
available for on a first come basis.

Here is a list of the numbers available for each trailhead:

You could consider a Yosemite Valley or Tuolumne to Reds Meadow hike
and then take the YARTS bus back when your done. If you do the reverse
of this (Reds Meadow back to Yosemite) you will be staring in Inyo
National Forest so you would get your permit from them. That might be
easier to reserve in advance if you preferred to do that.

Are there trailheads outside of the park that I can reach via YARTS (I won't have a car). Any thoughts? Thnx!
