[pct-l] New Bear Canister (not yet apporved)

I'm not sure but I thought I read somewhere that the canisters are round and
smooth so the bears can't run far away from your camp with them if they do
get a hold of one. Also, I think they're fat for the same reason instead of
tall and thin, they're just fat enough that they won't fit in a bears jaws
where they can run off with it. Supposedly, if a bear does get a canister it
will still be in retrievable distance (and hopefully still full!) once he's
done mauling it.

I'm glad to see more products entering the market. You do bring up an
interesting point about what will happen now that SBBIG is gone.

I'd also be worried about it rolling, but my main concern is pack-ability.
Round things suck for putting in a pack :P It doesn't give real an accurate
weight spec, just <2lbs. So it seems to be a minimal improvement over what
has already proven itself in the field for years.

Thanks for sharing this though. It is cool. I'll be ordering a Bear Vault
though ;)
