Someone I know saw a grizzly years ago just west of where the PCT crosses Castle Pass, at the Three Fools Creek shelter. I saw the largest scat I have ever seen on the rarely used trail between Stehekin and Holden.  There are wolves in the area, too. You are more likely to see them as there is a wolf pack in the Methow Valley and frequent sightings in the area.
