[pct-l] Trail Conditions Red's Meadow to Tuolumne Meadows

Just got into Kennedy Meadows at Sonora Pass. The snow and streams become
really really bad after Toulumne. Falls Creek was definitely the hardest to
cross if you weren't patient enough to hike up the eastern edge 5-7 miles.
For some people, even a GPS (waypoints only) won't help.

Two thru hikers tried early last week to hike into the Valley on the JMT.
After a long 17 miles they returned back to the Backpackers camp
tired...opting for the bus the next day. I think they had a GPS, but not
all the data loaded. They looked sloop tired...hahaha

I guess the moral of the story is: If you can't picture yourself in the
middle of the Sierras, with mounds of snow everywhere and having only a
vague sense of where the trail is...punctuated by the occassional 'crazy
fast cold-ass river'...then don't hike from Toulomne to Sonora right now.

I was so trail lost at times that I found myself using anything to feel like
I was moving in the right direction: deer prints, pieces of license plates
stuck in the side of trees, chainsaw cut logs (works pretty good)...and the
occassional...every 50 miles or so...PCT marker! hahaha

Formerly with Team Bad Call
Currently solo...still making bad calls.

PCT 2011 (working...)
JMT 2011!
