Written by none other than our own dear Barney Mann, aka "Scout".  He and his wife Sandy ("Frodo") hiked the PCT in 2007, host hikers starting from the southern terminus, and Barney serves on the PCTA board.  He is one of my heros, as I am sure he is to many.
